Matthew’s not a afraid to adventure into dark and hard to reach places. In fact, those places hold the most curiosity! Sometimes, he comes prepared with a powerful flashlight. I think this flashlight is a little big for him.
“For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly execute justice one with another, if you do not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.” (Jeremiah 7:5-7, ESV)

Once again, large corporations are making a big profit at the expense of the poor farmers. Do you drink Starbucks, Nescafe, Folgers, Maxwell House or any of the other major brands? You money is likely going towards funding a large corporation at the expense of some poor farmers in an already poor country.

There is a way to stop this madness. “Fair trade” labeled coffee is one way, and there is also a program called the “Cup of Excellence” that provides a way for connecting coffee farmers directly to the roasters and coffee houses all around the world. It’s a little gloomy here in San Jose, CA with the clouds hovering overhead. But it’s still something sweet and beautiful to think again about the difference Jesus has made in my life. I was once a lost and lonely person filling my life with drugs, sex, alcohol, material posessions and selishness. Today, I’m a person made over in Christ. I left my former life behind and now have a beautiful family, lots of happiness and a very promising future.

A man and a girls staged abductions in broad daylight to see what the passing people would do. Watch this video and be astounded by the truth. It’s interesting that the people that most of us would be stereotypically afriad of are the ones that cared the most.
Corporate Coffe store Starbuck decided to show it’s true corporate character by sueing a small time cafe owner who had named his cafe “Double Shot”. For those of you who don’t know espresso terminology, double shot is a term used to describe a double serving of espresso, or a 2oz serving of espresso. The term has been used long before Starbuck started using it for it’s “Double Shot” product.
Starbucks is also considered the Green Monster among coffee experts. You might as well throw them in the same group as Wallmart. Corporate entities that value greed and wealth and care very little about people. As for coffee, Starbucks is also not very good compared to the small cafe artisan roasters with trained baristas.
