Fireside
We stocked up on firewood this winter. $55 for 1/8th a chord of oak wood from the local wood yard.
We figured it would cost us $170 to buy the equivalent amount at the Albertsons grocery store. That’s quite a bit of savings. The wood is much harder to get lit because it’s really dense solid oak. However, once it get’s going, it lasts for quite a while.
Matthew loves the fire. He seems smart enough not to get too close, but we still never leave him alone in the living room when the fire is going.

Dear Jen and Rob,
First of all, I want to wish you two a MErry Christmas! Matthew is so big now, and so adorable and handsome!! It was really difficult to chose the best photo from the gallery because he’s so darn photogenic- he looks great in every one. Honestly, though, I like the photo of him that’s posted on your home page, not in the gallery. THe one where’s he’s by the fire and looks a little serious, maybe mesmerized by the fire. The lighting’s nice, he looks so sweet, and it’s such a natural shot. I put in my vote for that one. I’m still alive and kickin’ in CHina…sometimes just kickin’ , but always hangin’ in there. Happy Holidays to the Lombardi clan!!
