Christianity,

Last Sunday

Our church is going through something called the “New Testament Challenge”. We’ve been going through each book of the New Testament. There are reading plans, study guides, community group discussion guides and then the Sunday service. Our pastor is covering the book of Revelation now.

It turns out, many of the various cults such as Seventh Day Adventist, Johovah’s witnesses (and some other lesser know), gained a following due to their unique interpretation of scripture in the book of Revelation. They would predict the exact day of the coming of Jesus and gather support from numerous people who wanted to be ready for Jesus’s coming. Of course, the day came and went without Jesus coming. Nevertheless, people continue to follow the leaders lies and deceptions.

Most people see the book of Revelation as a description of “end times”. Our pastor explained that this emphasis on “end times” theology looses sight of the important message of Revelation. It is a message of hope, explaining the victory that is to come to those who are part of the body of believers in Christ.  Also, for those you who still think Jesus would never hurt a fly, read about his entrance into the book of Revelation.

“His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: ?Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.” (Revelation 1:14-18, NIV)

“Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.” (Revelation 2:16)

I love this verse in revelation! Anyone can ask J-Beth, I am infatuated with the power and glory of our Lord Jesus…I use to have a screen name of (eyesoffire114) which is just awesome! Could any human imagine being in the presence of Jesus and trying to stand in the presence of the hands that created them?...We all will stand before him…the bible even says that EVERY knee sahll bow and EVERY tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord.  I’m so glad that I trust Jesus as my savior than to be the person to finally drop his/her pride on the one day that we die? Glory & Honor & Power FOREVER to Jesus Christ!
